power hour in juniors

Ms Madden's class have started Power Hour for literacy with the help of Ms Hickey and Ms Shanahan. We have decided to focus on 3 areas - reading, phonics and oral language along with an independent station.

​For our phonics table we work on our letter for the week, revise the letters previously learned and also work on our blending.
In our oral language station Ms Shanahan works on our theme for the month' Fruit and Vegetables'.
We have started on our Big Box Stories so on our reading table we read our new book with Ms Hickey and play sight word games such as word bingo and make a match.
At the independent table we work on a written activity or play a game on the interactive whiteboard.
