This month the theme for Aistear is 'The Doctor's Surgery'. We focused on four different areas for this theme- construction, socio-dramatic area, water play and fine-motor skills. In the construction area the boys were kept busy making beds for the patients, building a hospital, making a road to the hospital and even making a helipad for a helicopter in case of emergencies. The boys at the water table were busy washing different body parts belonging to Mr Potato Head and picking them out of the water with tweezers. The fine motor table had the tough job of putting a face back together again. The Doctor and receptionist were kept very busy with all the patients waiting to see them in the Doctor's surgery. Junior Infants had great fun playing different maths games in the hall with Ms Bradshaw, Ms Sheehan, Mrs Walshe, Jennifer and Ms Madden for maths week. When Pirate Pete heard we were having a pizza party he sent a special delivery to our class. ![]() In it was a letter with tasks we had to do before we could have the party The first thing we had to do was to read his favourite story 'The Night Pirates'. Task 2 was to colour a picture of Pirate Pete! Our last task was to work together as a team to go through an obstacle course and carry our treasure back to the classroom. We were finally ready for the party. ARGHHH maties!!1 Junior Infants had great fun participating in Tug of War as part of National Fitness Day on September 29th. We are really enjoying getting to know one another in Junior Infants. The next day he brings it back and shows his special things to the class. Each table gets turn to look at these objects and picks which thing he likes best. The boys in Ms Madden's class are having great fun being creative during our morning table top activities. Miss Bourke’s class learning all about Humpty Dumpty and enjoying morning play. |
