Happy St.Patricks day from Ms Harringtons Junior infants! We had a very busy week learning all about St.Patrick and making our badges and shamrocks!
Last week our letter of the week was the letter v. One of the boys thought of the word volcano so for art we decided to make volcanoes using clay. We decided to work as teams so each table worked together to make the volcano. While the volcanoes were drying we coloured a picture of a volatile volcano. When the volcanoes were dry we painted them brown. To make the volcano explode we needed bread soda, vinegar and red food colouring. First we put the bread soda into the volcano. Then Ms Madden poured in the vinegar and red food colouring. Look at how it explodes!!
On Pancake Tuesday we decided to make some pancakes! First we needed to find out what ingredients we needed so we read Mr Wolf's Pancakes. We discovered we needed eggs, flour and milk to make the pancakes! We learned the poem 'Mix a pancake' to figure out what we do to make pancakes! First we put the flour and eggs into a bowl. Next we put in the mix! Our chef mixed them all together to make the batter. While we were outside Ms Madden cooked the pancakes in the kitchen. We ate them with nutella or sugar and lemon. They were delicious!
