Our new sight word this week is 'the'. We had great fun playing games to remember the word 'the'. First the boys had races to see who was the fastest to unscramble the letters to make the word.
Ms Madden wrote lots of the's outside in the yard. The boys had to find the word, put a circle around it using chalk and run back to the wall.
We then played a game where we ran around the yard and when Ms Madden called the word 'the' we had to find the word and stand on it.
For our History Lesson we chatted about toys that the boys played with when they were babies and toys we played with now. We played a game on the computer where we had to sort toys that babies play with and toys bigger people play with. Then using toy catalogues we found pictures of toys and put them in our workbooks under the headings of old and new toys.
junior Infants are very busy learning to write their letters. Every Wednesday we learn to write a letter in our writing stations.
First we all learn to write it on the IWB
Then we get cracking at the writing stations. On one table the boys use playdough to form the letter.
At the next table the boys write the letter on whiteboards.
On the third table the boys find the letter using highlighters.
At the last station the boys paint the letter.
When the boys are finished working at all the stations.,they complete a worksheet based on the letter.
