Happy Christmas from Ms Moloney’s Junior Infants.
Junior Infants were busy getting stuck into festive activities in the lead up to Christmas.
During Aistear we created Santa's Workshop in the role play area where the boys designed and made toys,
Stockings were filled with pictures of things the boys hoped to get from Santa.
After learning all about Penguins we had great fun playing Penguin Lotto
We had our Santa Wow Day where we wore our Santa Hats and went on a walk around town spotting all the christmas decorations on our way.
Santa's village was also under construction.
We sequenced the story of the First Christmas.
Eddie the Elf delivered a special package with everything we needed to make Reindeer food which we have leave out on Christmas Eve.
Great fun was had dressing up as characters from the North Pole to act out Ralph the Reindeer.
Ms Moloney’s class on a Winter walk to Nenagh Castle Garden. The boys had a lovely time playing there and exploring all the garden had to offer.
Buddy the elf brought us some hot chocolate today. A lovely treat on a cold winters day.
As part of the Community Santa for Seniors initiative run by Nenagh Garda station we made Christmas cards for our elderly friends in Nenagh day care center and Nursing homes. We hope our cards will bring a smile to their faces. Our teachers also donated gifts.
There was great work being done in Ms Madden's class during our November Aistear sessions. This month our theme was My Family/My Home
Role Play area: The Kitchen
The role play area was a hive of activity between sweeping ,ironing clothes, cutting meat and vegetables for dinner, cooking the dinner and making sandwiches , there wasn't a moment to spare.
After chatting about the different types of houses - bungalows. cottages, two-storey, terraced houses, the boys worked as teams on the construction site to design their own.
Rooms of the house were also constructed using smaller blocks.
A big stack of dishes needed to be washed at the water table.....plenty of suds and elbow grease was required!
Small World Area: There was great work being done to sort the furniture into the right rooms.
