We had our Easter raffle today. Lots of boys won lovely prizes. There was great excitement and we had a Easter party before we got our holidays.
We went to see the Gruffalo's child in UL. The Gruffalo said that no Gruffalo should Ever set foot in the deep dark wood...One wild and windy night the Gruffalo’s child ignores his father’s warning and tiptoes out into the snow. After all, the Big Bad Mouse doesn’t really exist... does he? We went to the playground in Castletroy. It was great fun!.
Le haghaidh Seachtain na Gaeilge, d'fhoghlaim na Naíonáin Shóisearacha an amhráin " Bhí leipreacháin ina shuí faoi chrann" We decided to make leprechaun masks for St.Patrick day and guess what happened a leprechaun came to visit our classroom and played tricks on us. He put all our chairs up on the table when we went out to lunch and left his footprints on our floor. The pesky leprechaun also turned some lemonade green which we had as a drink. It was delicious but left us with green tongues.Ooops!
![]() Junior Infants did the letter v this week and decided to make volcanoes. Each table got some clay and they worked as a team to turn it into a volcano. ![]() When the boys finished their volcano they coloured a picture of a Volatile Volcano and waited for the clay to dry. ![]() ![]() The following day each group painted their volcano brown. ![]() When that was dry Ms Madden put some bread soda into each volcano. Some red food colouring and vinegar were poured into each volcano and it exploded before our eyes. It was great fun! This week in science we learned all about magnets. ![]() After talking about magnets and how they work each table got a large magnet and some objects to test. ![]() Before each object was tested we had to predict whether it would prove to be magnetic or not. ![]() Every boy got a turn at investigating whether an object was magnetic or not. ![]() We then recorded our findings in our workbook. |
