Ms Madden's boys were very busy .....making volcanoes painting volcanoes.... and exploding volcanoes. Bhaineamar an- taitneamh as damhsa lena gcailíní i rith Seachtain na Gaeilge. We learned all about animals as part of our theme 'The Vet's Surgery'. In the construction area we built homes for our pets. In the small world area a farm yard was set up. We played the games 'Quack Quack' and 'Old Mc Donald's Farm' on our independent station. The vet was very busy looking after all the sick animals in his surgery. We worked hard to remember the names of all the baby animals. To celebrate World Book Day, boys from 5th and 6th class in the CBS came to our school to participate in 'Buddy Reading'. Ms Madden's boys picked out their favourite books for the CBS boys to read to them. Both schools really enjoyed the experience. We had great fun learning how to make pancakes for Pancake Tuesday.Together we worked together to write out the procedure we had to use when making pancakes. After we made the pancakes we sequenced the steps we had to take for an individual procedural writing activity. Ms Madden's class were kept busy using their imaginations to paint pictures for our upcoming Images Art Exhibition. When we were learning all about the letter 'l' we decided to make lollipops that we could lick while we sang our song 'We lick our Lollipops'. The lollipops were scrumptious. We have been very busy in Junior Infants learning to write our letters. Every Wednesday we work on our writing through stations. We learn to form our letters through letter searches, forming our letters using playdough, painting the letter and writing the letter on our whiteboards. Garda Maureen and Catherine from the RSA came to our class to teach us the importance of keeping safe. We learned that it is vitally important to wear our hi vis jackets when walking and also we learned a song about how to keep safe while cycling our bikes. |
