We have enjoyed starting to learn about Spring. We learned about the changes that happen in Spring, the days get longer, buds start to come on trees & flowers start to grow. We learned that baby animals are born and our Aistear theme “The Vet” is linked to our learning about animals. We learned about the life cycle of the frogs and how frogs pawn turned into tadpoles, then into froglets until it grows into a frog. We learned some interesting facts about frogs too, about how they grow, where they live and how they breathe air and water. We learned that frogs are amphibians. In Junior infant we learned about mixing colours. We learned that red & yellow make orange, yellow & blue make green and blue & red make purple. We painted colour wheels as we explored colour mixing. We had great fun.
We are getting ready for our Images Art Painting Exhibition in March. We have been practising our painting in the GP room. Thanks to Ms Gavin & the support teachers for their help. It is a great way to help us develop our literacy. We learned to make Vegetable Soup in our class. Some boys thought it was very tasty. As we were learning all about fruit and how good it is for us, we decided to make a fruit salad. Off we went with our bags to get some fruit in the fruit shop. We peeled and chopped the fruit to make our fruit salad. It was delicious. January Science Experiments This month in science we learned about;
