Well done to Tristian and his sister for getting out on their bikes to support our "Get Moving in May" fundraiser. Well done to Dominik for getting out and about on his bike as part of our fundraiser " Get Moving in May". This week the boys learned all about volcanoes. In our groups we made our own volcanoes out of clay and then we painted them. We learned all about how volcanoes erupt. After we painted our volcanoes, came the fun part. We carried out an experiment to make our volcanoes erupt. We had great fun! Fruit and vegetables was the Aistear theme in Junior Infants for May. Ms. McNulty took a group for the oral language station. They were very busy.
This month Ms Madden's class have been working on the topic of the Post Office. Great fun was had designing letters to send to their friends, after which they went to the post office to buy some stamps and to post their letters in the post box. Our post person was kept very busy delivering all of the letters to the boys in the class. In the Small World area the boys used great imagination to create a town for the post person to deliver their letters and parcels. Our Postal Workers were busy bees trying to get all the packages wrapped, addressed and stamped for delivery. Team work was the name of the game as each table worked together to design their own post boxes. The boys paid great attention to see who could get all the pictures first in the matching game. Counting skills were put to the test in the Roll and Colour game. At the construction station, the boys worked hard to create post vans for the postal workers along with a route for them to use when delivering the post, Once the construction sector got the go ahead to go back to work our builders worked hard at constructing some badly needed post boxes. There was great scissor work on show when the boys had to use their skills to cut out different pictures relating to the post office, Checking in on our seeds in Juniors. Look how tall our peas are getting. |
