Today is World Bee Day. We showed the children the following video: https://pollinators.ie/media/world-bee-day/ and we looked at: An introduction to Ireland's Bees https://youtu.be/tSiPu-Q_IIU. We have some lovely bee displays around our school. Our clothes collection has gotten off to a good start. Remember you can drop bags of clothes to the school up to and including Tuesday June 7th.
As part of the National Spring clean , we picked up any litter that we found around our school. Thankfully it was an easy job as we keep our school so tidy and clean. Ellen our travel officer did a scooter safety workshop with the pupils during scoot to school week. We planted Beebombs in our garden today. As part of our Green schools theme on Biodiversity we will have some wildflowers in our garden. Our native tree saplings are starting to bud during tree week. The trees are rowan, Hazel, hawthorn and birch.
Children in St. Mary's Junior Boys' have some great energy saving tips on these leaves to help grow Tipperary's Energy Tree!
