Each boy made a Christmas tree decoration that will hang in the Scouts hall on Friday 1st December. We made polar bears using newspaper and we made snow globes too.   Mr.O'Meara helped us to put our house together for our small world station in Aistear.  We started off Science week with an experiment to see what happens to Skittles when we add warm water. We also put celery into food colouring to see what happens. For the month of November our Aistear theme is Fruit and Vegetable shop. We are learning all the names of the different fruits and vegetables. On one station we wrote our shopping lists for the fruit and veg shop. On our Role play station we set up a fruit and veg shop. We played the role of shopkeeper and customer. We learned all the new words for describing how things taste. We had a tasting station where we put on a blindfold and tasted different fruits. We had to guess what the fruit was. We put different fruits into a bag and we had to guess what the fruit was.  Every boy was given a fruit or vegetable and we had to draw it and describe how is feels, smells and tastes. Every week our table of the week gets to make chocolate hats for the whole class. First we melt the chocolate and then we add sprinkles and a marshmallow. They are delicious. |
