The boys made some lovely Leprechauns in Art for St. Patrick's Day. They used some forks to paint the beards...aren't they fabulous? Larry the Leprechaun made a quick visit to our classroom before St.Patrick's Day. He left us some treats and Leprechaun juice...but Ms.Horrigan couldn't drink the special juice or her feet and hands would have turned green! Everybody looked super in their green outfits for our Green Day to celebrate St. Patrick, the patron Saint of Ireland. The boys, along with help from Bríd Ryan and Kathleen Madden, made an amazing Spring board for outside our classroom door. We can't wait to march into Spring and hope the weather will get a bit warmer soon!
We learned about The Okapi in Science recently. He is an unusual animal...his tongue is so long, he can use it to clean his eyes and ears with!
We made some beautiful Kites in Art. We used beads, tinfoil, cotton wool, coloured paper and crepe paper. They really brighten up our classroom!
The boys made some beautiful 'Rainbow Swirls' to celebrate St.Patrick's Day...we found so many pots of gold at the ends of our rainbows that we must be rich by now!
We talked about Capacity in Maths, looking at containers which were full, half full/half empty and empty.
