For November, our theme was 'My Family and Home'. We learned all about the families of the boys in the class and the different types of homes they live. Aistear was thoroughly enjoyed this month as we had so many things to work on in our stations.
Role Play Area:
The Role Pay area was a hive of activity as the boys were kept busy ironing, sweeping the floor, minding the baby, setting the table and preparing the dinner.
Small World Area:
In the Small World Area we made sure the furniture was put into the correct rooms before introducing our family.
There were a lot of dishes to be washed and dried at the Water Table.
There were some amazing houses designed in the Construction Area.
Fine Motor Skiils:
Our fine motor skills were put to the test as we cut out the different rooms of the house and put them in the right spot.
Turn Taking: House Game
There was great fun had playing the House Game with Julie.
Art and Craft: The Three Little Pigs' Houses
After reading 'The Three Little Pigs' we learned all about the different types of materials used to make houses. We then used the same materials as the Three Pigs to make their houses.
Walkabout: We finished off our work on this topic by taking a stroll around our community and looking at the different types of houses we had learned about. We spotted a bungalow, a semi detached house, a detached house and some terraced houses.
