This week we learned about Water Safety & on Friday the boys in Junior Infants were given a STEM challenge to "Build a Boat". Wow Daniil made a fantastic boat. 'After learning about Water Safety this week, the Junior Infant teachers set the boys a STEM challenge to build a boat that floats. We were so impressed with the boys efforts and we may have some future engineers in our midst. Benny did a super job making a boat for his Lego men! Charlie created two boats. The first boat unfortunately sunk but his second,SS Charlie, successfully managed to stay a float. Well Done on persevering Charlie. Ms Madden's class also did great work for 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. We sorted out what the caterpillar ate on each day of the week, we sequenced the life cycle of the butterfly and some boys got their creative juices flowing by making their very own caterpillars. Super work all round. This week Junior Infants read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", they learned about the life cycle of the butterfly & they made caterpillars for art! Great creativity shown again this week! Literacy in Junior Infants. Writing from this week, a "sh" word hunt & we read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" This week Junior Infants were learning about Capacity. They were investigating things that were "full" and things that were "empty". |
